New Livings 2 - Portugal and Italy 1394-1396
The year 1394 proved to be a turning point in Adam's fortunes as he was granted (and for once was able to collect) the revenues from a number of livings across Europe. Obviously the pope, Boniface IX, could only find Adam new livings from those lands that were loyal to the Roman pope so his English Cardinal had to be patient. However when Boniface succeeded in "converting" the Portuguese from being supporters of Clement, the anti pope, a couple of decent livings soon came up for grabs! Leter in 1396 Boniface added the donation of the wealthy Convent of St Agnes Ferrara (pictured above) from his own estates in central Italy.
