About the Author
Andrew Lee

A history graduate from University College London Andrew has retained a life long interest in medieval history and in the history of the church in particular. He has spent over 6 years researching the biography of Adam Easton which has become something of a labour of love. Research for this project was extensive involving source material from around Europe but in particular the Secreto Archivo, British Library, Cambridge University Library, the Vatican Library, Parker Library of Corpus Christi Cambridge as well as the cathedral libraries of Norwich, Durham, Worcester, Hereford and the Lambeth Palace Library. However this has not just been an exercise in studying manuscripts as Andrew believed from the start that it was important to trace Adam's own journey across Europe. So as much as deriving material from written sources, Andrew used his travels from Norwich to Nocera, to Oxford and Canterbury, to Avignon and the Italian cities of Montefiascone, Genova, Lucca, Perugia, Lacedonia, Benevento and Rome to draw the scenery and experience these places where Adam had walked, at first hand. Many retain strong elements of their medieval character and he has used this first hand experience to help add colour and detail to Adam's story.

In addition to his work on Adam Easton, Andrew has published a series of books on the village of Somersham and has devoted over 5 years to the study of medieval church art in England .

The author is based in Huntingdonshire and has lived in the area for the last 20 years.
